We are in the middle of a very uncertain time, and health is at the forefront of everyone’s mind now more than ever. As such, staying safe and healthy should be a big concern for RV transporters. While you’re traveling, it’s important to take as many precautions as possible to stay safe and well. Here are 4 tips to stay healthy while transporting RVs.

1. Make sure to thoroughly clean your vehicle.

Since you likely spend a lot of time in your car, your car is probably full of germs and debris from your ventures outside. If you aren’t already in the habit of cleaning out your vehicle, for the sake of your health, now is a great time to start! Start off by decluttering if necessary, then move on to wiping down the seats, steering wheel, and the area around your radio. Anywhere that your hands touch needs to be wiped down! This can be as easy as taking a Clorox wipe across each surface.

2. Carry around hand sanitizer or hand wipes at all times.

Along the same vein, try your best to carry hand wipes or hand sanitizer with you, either on your person or in your vehicle, at all times. They’re somewhat of a hot item at the moment, but if you can get your hands on them, definitely try to keep them handy as much as possible. It’s always nice to have clean hands and a clean car, even when we’re not in the middle of a pandemic!

3. Keep your health in check: if you feel sick, protect yourself and others.

It seems like something that shouldn’t have to be said, but if you’re not feeling well, stay home! Especially in the world we’re in right now, it’s important to make sure that you’re keeping your health as a priority. Additionally, the health of others can depend on how you take care of yourself. Try your best to take care of yourself and others and if you feel sick, stay home and take care!

4. Limit your exposure to other people as much as possible.

Regardless of whether you’re sick or well, it’s best to limit your contact with other people during this time. Aside from your family, try to avoid spending much time around other people. It is recommended by the CDC to remain at least six feet away from other people during this pandemic; even if you’re feeling perfectly healthy, try to keep some space between yourself and others if you find yourself out and about.

Ultimately, your common sense is going to be your best friend when it comes to maintaining your health while you’re traveling. Take all necessary (and available) precautions, and above all, keep an eye on your health. Here at RV Transport Life, we are committed to providing information, resources, and advice to RV transporters and industry professionals all over. We wish you safe and healthy travels during this time!
