Snacks are one of the biggest things to look forward to when you’re going on a road trip. It doesn’t matter if you’re an adult or a child – you can’t have a road trip without snacks! Certain snacks can be dangerous to eat while you’re driving, because some require two hands or a lot of attention to open. However, some are safe to eat, and absolutely delicious to boot. Here’s a list of road trip snacks you can eat safely while you’re on the road!

1. Trail Mix

Trail mix is one of the most versatile snacks. There’s no limit to what you can put in it! Granola, chocolate, raisins, m&ms, dried fruit, and so many other things can be in your trail mix. Therefore, this is a snack that anyone can enjoy! Besides, the pieces are so small, it’s easy to grab a handful without taking your eyes off the road (or both hands off the wheel).

2. Dried fruit

If you’re looking for a healthier option than the others on this list, dried fruit is a fantastic road trip snack. Most of it doesn’t contain preservatives, so you don’t have to worry about what else may be in your food. Additionally, dried fruit doesn’t really create a lot of crumbs, so you won’t be vacuuming your floorboards after your trip.

3. Cheez-its

Cheez-its are one of the best snacks of all time. Plus, they come in so many different flavors: Parmesan, Grooves, Hot & Spicy, Whole Grain…the list goes on forever. There’s a kind for everyone. And they’re bite-sized, so they’re easy to grab without taking your eyes away from the road. The only downside is the crumbs, but a few crumbs won’t ruin a trip!

4. Combos

These are by far one of the best snacks for the road (and in general). They’re either pretzel or cracker on the outside, and a delicious flavored filling on the inside. Combos come in so many different flavors, including peanut butter, honey sriracha, pizza, cheese, and so many more – there’s something for everyone!

5. Popcorn

Popcorn isn’t just for movie theatres. Even though you may initially think of microwaveable bags of popcorn, there are many brands at the grocery store which sell pre-popped popcorn! They’re also portioned into perfect snack size, so they’re great to take on the road.

Regardless of what you’re snacking on, make sure you’re still staying alert and being aware of those around you on the road.
