Driving safety is one of the most vital aspects of an RV transporter’s life, and it can seem like there are endless rules and guidelines to help keep you safe on the road. As such, it can be hard to prioritize; in reality, there’s no way to perfectly prioritize these driving safety tips because they’re all so important. However, if we had to pick three of the most major driving safety tips, it would be these.

1. Slow down when you’re about to turn.

If you turn too quickly, you have a good chance of rolling over – and nobody wants to find themselves in that situation! In fact, turning too quickly is one of the leading causes of rollover accidents. Don’t risk it. Start braking when you see a turn coming up, and slow your vehicle before turning the wheel. You’ll be more likely to avoid spinning out or rolling over, and you’ll keep yourself and those around you safer that way.

2. Always double check your blind spots.

They’re called blind spots for a reason! It is extremely easy to miss things in your vehicle’s blind spots. Whether it’s a person on a motorcycle or just a piece of tire in the road, you need to make sure you’re completely safe before trying to change lanes or merge anywhere. Be extremely cautious when switching lanes! Look at least twice before going anywhere – it could really become a life or death situation for yourself or a motorcyclist.

3. Wear your seatbelt – always!

No matter how annoying it may be, you must wear your seatbelt. They were designed specifically to help keep you safe. If it’s the choice between putting on a piece of fabric and staying alive, the choice to stay alive should hopefully be pretty clear! Your safety is always top priority, and it’s no exception on the highway when everyone is driving so fast.

Are there other driving safety tips you think should’ve made it into the top three? We’d love to hear about it in the comments below! Here at RV Transport Life, we are committed to providing information, resources, and advice to folks in the RV industry. We wish you safe travels this summer!
